GENERAL MEETING, November 17

Meeting was called to order by President Veronica Barker 7:02 pm

Roll Call: all board members in attendance, April Leonetti and Terry Townsend absent, excused.

Secretary’s Report: Meeting minutes from the Oct 20 meeting approved as is.

Treasurer’s Report: Tony reported $6,300.14 as of that night.

Membership Report: No new updates.

Semi Old - Business: 2023 Specialty:

Conf Judge: Xxxx Xxxxx (WA) wants to do our specialty, however, has a conflict with another show. She is cancelling.

Sweeps Judge: Xxxx Xxxxx – said no. Their nationals are at the same time. She would be interested in judging in the future.

Called Xxxx Xxxxx and left a message. No response yet.

Trophies: Question raised as to how much has been spent. Veronica and Tony to compare notes as to what has been spent.

New Business:

Christmas Dinner: Anyone interested in doing a Christmas Dinner since the Christmas shows have been moved to September?

Agreed – Veronica to send an email to membership with location etc.

2022 Specialty: 2022 Specialty is fully closed in terms of documents. Amy M brought up the cost of trophies for the last specialties.

2023 Specialty: Debra Davis is set for 2023 @ Industry Hills

2024 Judges: Robert Hutton, Stephanie Hedgepath judges for 2024 shows - have not heard from them.

Brags: Tracy Rogers' Bailey became a Grand Champion at the Black Mountain shows!

2022 Specialty: Tony submitted the P & L statement from the 2022 Specialty.

Judges: Stacy Davis and Cindy Mehre.

Superintendent: Tony is working on a contract with Dogzibit.

Location: Also need a contact for Industry Hills. (Condition of grass?)

GCESSA thanks Jerry Amante for looking over our Bi-Laws, Contracts, and Superintendent issues, etc. It is/was a lot of work and greatly appreciated!

Meeting was called to order at 7:16 pm.

Secretary's Report: Meeting minutes from July were approved as is.

Treasurer's Report: Tony reported $5,168.01 as of that night.

Membership Report: No new updates.

Old Business:

2022 Specialty P & L is complete. Tony would like to review before publishing.

New Business:

2023 Specialty: (April 29 2 shows, April 30 1 show)

Show Superintendent: Dogzibit supplies online entries, credit card charges. CC fees would have to be absorbed by the club. They also provide a show catalog. They do not provide premium notification by mail. We would have to notify entrants via web, etc.

Motion was made and accepted to change our superintendent to Dogzibit.

Judges:

Stacy Davis (WA) will be judging our first show. Cindy Mehre (FL) will be judging the 2nd show.

Sweeps: Have not talked with Jaime Walton. Toby Bloom is next on the list.

Location: Waiting for the contract from City of Industry. Grass situation may change location plans.

Concerns verbalized - Tony to get list of people who paid for catalog to send an email if they want the money or donate to Gateway.

Thank you to Terry, the Ribbon upgrade was great.

Meeting was called to order by President Veronica Barker 7:03 pm.

Treasurer's Report: Tony reported $4,683 as of that night.

Membership Report: Patricia renewed her membership.

Old Business: 2022 Specialty:

Conformation Judges - arriving Friday 4/29. Marilyn is staying 2 nights. Johnny is driving in & staying one night. Sweeps should start at 9:30, 2nd show start at 2pm.

Need to check with the Sheriff regarding horse areas.

Porta potties deliver Fri pickup Mon.

We will have a scissor sharpening vendor at the show.

There will not be a potluck lunch this year. Tomorrow is the last day to reserve a box lunch.

Ribbons: All ribbons have been upgraded. Rescue ribbons have also been updated.

Rescue Parade: Estimate is 10.

Raffle: Plan to make raffle cut off at the start of 2nd show so the rescue folks can participate. Veronica presold $160 online for garden boxes and garden stakes. There are 40 baskets made. Will have a wire crate, a grooming table, and a canopy.

12:00 pm is the start of setup time at show site. Motor homes as well. Exhibitors can start set up at 1pm. Tony needs to mark off ring area.

Meeting was called to order by President Veronica Barker 7:02 pm.

Roll Call: Showed Amy Nagel absent excused.

Secretary's Report: Minutes from the prior meeting were approved as submitted.

Treasurer's Report: Tony reports a balance of $6536.39.

Membership Report: Nothing new to report.

Old Business:

2022 Specialty - Tony reports we are on track for the show. City of Industry has upped the insurance requirements to an amount that cannot be purchased but will accept our insurance plus SFESSA insurance which will meet their required amount.

Tony shopped for the raffle at a recent show. He reported he had to pay $180 for the grooming table for the raffle. He further reported he could not find wheels anywhere. The membership began an immediate on-line search and found a set on Amazon. Veronica bought them with her Prime (to be reimbursed by the club) for approximately $80. He also reported we have had a donation of a tack box, with a $200 value. Members also have a canopy and air fryer for the raffle. All are encouraged to collect/bring donations toys baskets and so forth for the raffle and a basket day will be held prior to the show. The trophy book is circulating- since we have two shows in one day we will have double the trophy expense. Support the Trophy Fund!

April reports she will pick up the morning show trophies from Roger Kibbie the week of the show.

Veronica reports the afternoon trophies are done and she has them.

Meeting was called to order by President Veronica Barker 7:00 pm.

Roll Call: Showed Tammy and Pat absent.

Secretary's Report: Minutes from the prior meeting were approved as submitted.

Treasurer's Report: Tony reported $6,775 as of that night.

Membership Report: We have two new members joining us for their first meeting: David and Gail Lowrie from Cathedral City, they had Akitas - and are sponsored by Tony and April.

Due to Covid, a movement made and approved to suspend the rule that voting must be done in person. David and Gail were voted in as new members of GCESSA.

Membership List needs updating/forwarding.

Mary and Brent McKinzie Memorial - will be Friday Feb 18.

2022 Specialty:

Tony reported that Mrs. Pope cannot fly. Mr Hutton has assignments that weekend - but would like to be considered for 2023. Marilyn Little accepted.

Received the contract from City of Industry. Asking for $2-5mm in insurance. Asking our agency for cost to cover. If Equisure will not cover it - will ask Lynda George @ Rio Hondo/Conejo what insurance agency they are using.

The price is the same for the Vineyard. RV Parking is $25.

Potluck: with two specialties - there is not enough time to have a potluck lunch. Going to contact Cindi @ San Fernando to see who they use to bring food in on Sunday. Nancy will be doing breakfast Saturday am.

Trophies: For the first show Don is making BOB, BOS,& BOW wood plaques. Roger Kibbie will be making the remainder. For the second show Veronica has embroidered travel bags for all trophies.

Perpetual Trophies: Need to pull out the perpetual trophy and update it. Bowl for BOB is beyond cleaning, BOW(I did not catch update), BOS in good shape - a new trophy was donated. Motion made and approved for April to investigate replacements for BOB perpetual trophy. Nancy McWilliams would love that it be in Ken's memory.

Trophy Book - April will be taking the trophy book to Silverbay,

Ribbons: Terry asked for a copy of the previous ribbon order to have a comparison/baseline. Last year, we spent $337.97 for two shows.

Hotel: Best Western is the least expensive in the area $149/night. Can walk to get food.

Raffle: Need to purchase two items - Metal Wheels and a Grooming Table. Tony is going to shop at Silverbay and make the purchases. Veronica has a purple canopy to donate. Aime Weniger is donating a purple tack box.

Rescue: ESRA will be attending this year. Will need parade of rescue ribbons. Don is trying to get the number of rescues.

Show Locations: Yanks Air Museum at Chino Airport - has a large grassy area, they are looking to bring business to the museum. Has flushing bathrooms, a gazebo on pavement, dry camping, and there is a nearby campground. Nice location, fenced in, and very safe.

Meeting was called to order by President Veronica Barker 7:00 pm.

Roll Call: all board members in attendance.

Treasurer's Report: Tony reported $6,775 as of that night.

Membership Report: We have two new members joining us for their first meeting: David and Gail Laury from Cathedral City, they had Akitas - and are sponsored by Tony and April.

Industry Hills is Open. Tony asked Madeline (Secty to Director) about current cost for the Vineyard.

Tony has signed contracts on judges. Called Eileen to start the premium. He also spoke with Cyndi at San Fernando - they are also a go. Need to call on portapotties.

Trophies: Don is doing BOB, BOS, and BOW trophies for the first show. Roger Kibbe will be doing trophies for the 2nd show.

Ribbons: Terry T is going to up the ante on ribbons a bit.

Future locations: Saddleback Church is a no go. San Bernardino Soccer is too big. Because we currently have access to the Vineyard at City of Industry - will delay additional searching for now.

Raffle: (by committee) Please donate prior to the show. If we cannot meet at JSN to store, gather, and do prepacking - Amy M offered her home to coordinate. Please send items to her for baskets.

AKC Updates:

Will now have two categories of Bred By Exhibitor - Jr and Sr.

New Business: Election of Officers - Motion was made and approved to roll current officers and board members forward one more year.

Sacramento will be having 4 specialties in one weekend. Weekend of April 2 & 3.
